Maintenance Manager - JLL What this job involves: As a Maintenance Manager at JLL, you will lead comprehensive maintenance operations across our commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring all building systems and infrastructure operate at peak performance. This role places you at the center of facility operations, where you'll oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. You'll coordinate with diverse teams of technicians, contractors, and vendors to deliver seamless maintenance solutions that enhance tenant satisfaction and protect asset value. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related technical field
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical work, plumbing, and general building maintenance practices
  • Experience supervising maintenance teams and coordinating with external contractors
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and basic computer applications
  • Understanding of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and building code requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants, vendors, and team members
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other building systems
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work order management
  • Background in commercial real estate or property management environments
  • Knowledge of energy management practices and sustainability initiatives
  • Experience with budget management and cost control in maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and smart building technologies
  • Previous experience in a customer service-oriented maintenance role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations across assigned properties, ensuring all systems function efficiently and safely
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building infrastructure systems
  • Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate work assignments to optimize productivity and ensure quality standards
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate rapid resolution of critical system failures
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, ensuring work quality and adherence to budgetary constraints
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and assess overall building condition
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, equipment warranties, and compliance documentation
  • Prepare maintenance budgets and track expenses to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
