About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall care, functionality, and presentation of Lone Mountain Ranch. This role ensures that the property, including cabins, buildings, grounds, and equipment, is consistently maintained to a high standard, supporting both the guest experience and the daily rhythm of the Ranch. This position blends leadership with a strong presence in the work itself. The Maintenance Manager builds and maintains clear, effective systems while remaining actively engaged in operations, guiding the team, addressing issues as they arise, and paying close attention to the details that shape the environment. The ideal candidate leads with steadiness and accountability, takes pride in their work, and understands that well maintained spaces contribute directly to how people feel when they are here. They approach the property with a thoughtful, proactive mindset and foster a team culture grounded in respect, ownership, and care.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or property operations, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of property systems, including buildings, infrastructure, grounds, vehicles, and equipment
  • Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs, work order systems, and operational processes
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team through clear communication, consistency, and a present leadership approach
  • Strongproblem-solvingskills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Experience managing budgets, tracking expenses, and working with vendors and service providers
  • Comfortable using maintenance management systems and basic office programs
  • Ability to safelyoperateand oversee the use of all Ranch equipment, including trucks, plows, skid steers, groomers, and other heavy machinery
  • Valid driver’s license and ability tooperatevehicles in a variety of conditions, including snow and ice

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fire mitigation and safety practices, particularly in wildfire prone environments, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the care and upkeep of all facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring the Ranchremainssafe, functional, and consistently ready for both guests and team members
  • Establish andmaintainthoughtful,well-structuredsystems for daily operations, including preventive maintenance programs, work orders, schedules, and checklists
  • Move throughout the property with intention, regularly reviewing cabins, buildings, and outdoor spaces to ensure details are noticed and addressed before they become issues
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment aremaintainedto a high standard, supporting reliable operations and minimizing disruptions
  • Lead and support the Maintenance Team through a consistent, present leadership style, providing clear direction, encouragement, and accountability in the work
  • Foster a team culture grounded in respect, ownership, and pride in the property, where individuals feel supported in their growth and take responsibility for their work
  • Uphold safety as a constant priority, reinforcing best practices, leading trainings, and ensuring all work is performed with care and awareness
  • Support fire mitigation efforts andmaintaina proactive approach to property safety, particularly in changing seasonal conditions
  • Respond to maintenance needs in guest spaces with a sense of urgency and care, understanding the role these details play in the overall experience
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of the Ranch as a whole, addressing small but meaningful details such as cleanliness, outdoor spaces, and the natural impact of weather and wildlife
  • Manage resources thoughtfully, including budget, materials, and inventory, with an understanding of both operational needs andlong-termstewardship of the property
  • Build strong, reliable relationships with vendors and partners, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and aligned with the Ranch’s expectations
  • Work closely with other departments to support daily operations and shared goals, contributing to a cohesive and well aligned environment
