Through this internship, learn many of the duties of a Maintenance Manager. Assist Maintenance Management Team in the function, assessment, documentation, auditing, organization, communication, planning, and improvement of the Maintenance Team by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completed or currently enrolled in an Engineering or Maintenance collegiate or other post high school secondary educational program.
  • Working knowledge of design software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

Responsibilities

  • Updates Martins Maintenance SOPs including observation and time study of activity, updating written SOP documents, reviewing updated SOPs with various maintenance team members and leaders, updating web based documents.
  • Creates forms to be used by technicians to detail work completed and audit documents for Maintenance Quality Assessments.
  • Works cooperatively with PLC Technicians on a PLC and plant controls systems upgrade project, including field study, data gathering, and preparing upgrade documents.
  • Leads vibration analysis initiatives on select equipment under the direction of Maintenance Managers, including verification of sensors and equipment, preparation and analysis of reports.
  • Assists Maintenance Managers and Maintenance Planner with project management duties including soliciting quotes, reviewing proposals, and project oversight.
  • Acquires knowledge of Martins equipment and processes through working with maintenance team members on the production floor.
  • Assists inventory team with parts organization, counting, and documentation.
  • Provides Maintenance Managers with various reports including maintenance KPI reports, production scrap reports, and equipment failure analysis reports.
  • Conducts routine system audits of timekeeping, inventory management, and maintenance management software.
  • Observes and sits in on other Maintenance Manager duties to improve understanding of the role.
  • Uses information gathered through failure analysis to recommend predictive maintenance.
  • Reports and adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Assists with maintenance duties including dismantling devices, lubricating parts, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Works flexible hours to meet project/task deadlines.
  • Communicates with Maintenance Manager, Assistant Manager, and Maintenance Supervisor regarding task assignments and completions.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of work area.
