About The Position

Maintenance Man is responsible for performing all general maintenance-related duties and errands necessary in the day operation of FKEC facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform general electrical maintenance: replacing lights, bulbs, relocating lights, etc. Perform general plumbing maintenance: unclog drains, sinks, and faucets, including repair of PVC and copper connections. Coordinates outside contracts as necessary. Perform general carpentry maintenance: hanging doors, hanging pictures, furniture repair, wallboard repair, etc. Perform general painting maintenance: touch-up and wallpaper repair, painting, etc. Perform load test on building generator and fire pump run test according to schedule. Perform scheduled maintenance on the cooling tower and a/c evaporator units. Maintain and schedule the irrigation system, including the cistern, according to water needs and restrictions. Maintain the lawn, shrubbery, and landscaping weekly Perform regular routine maintenance on various equipment, such as vacuums, ice machines, air conditioners, and wire strippers, and perform monthly checks of all fire extinguishers. Maintain detailed service record of building systems, A/C, fire systems, generators, etc. Deliver material to Miami and/or FKEC line crews as requested. Perform other related or assigned duties as requested. The above responsibilities are a guide and are not all-inclusive for the essential responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years of previous general maintenance experience is desirable. Experience should include general knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades.
Must be familiar with and have the ability to operate the following: FKEC pick-ups, trucks, vans, and autos. All essential tools that are used in the plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical trades. Various hand tools, lawnmowers, etc.
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
Must use cybersecurity best practices and use responsible conduct in online environments and while using email.
Observe and practice all safety policies and rules.
Extra hours may be necessary during emergencies or when the workload demands.
Residency requirement: Worker for this position is not required to live within the FKEC service territory, but it is highly recommended.
Position requires moderate lifting, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, working in awkward positions, and exposure to many adverse weather conditions. Other physical demands are the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push pull, lift, grasp, feel, read, and write.
Must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, noise, vibration, physical hazards (working on ladders and high places), and atmospheric conditions (fumes, dust, gases, etc.)
