About The Position

Mars Wrigley- Maintenance Leader- Hackettstown, NJ Pay Range: Based off experience between $100- 120K This site manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms Shift Schedule: Monday- Friday 6:30am- 2:30pm (Flexible pending business needs) 1-2 times per week flex time to support third shift team Description of Role: Leads a team of up to 12 maintenance associates to ensure plant equipment is properly maintained while meeting safety, quality, environmental, regulatory, financial, and production goals. Oversees repair, maintenance, and installation of machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a technical discipline and 5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering OR High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering
  • 2+ years’ directly managing a team of 2+ associates
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset (e.g., TPM, PM, Lean Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, warehousing or industrial environment
  • Proficient using computer software including MS Office (Word, Excel) and email communications.
  • Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs.)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications in a technical discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in people management
  • Prior experience in the food industry

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a maintenance team of 12, providing coaching, training, and development through formal reviews, development plans, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee reactive work for day-to-day breakdowns, troubleshooting and equipment repairs.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance (PM), inspection routines, inventory control, job scheduling, and plant improvement plans.
  • Support plant maintenance strategies including developing annual capital project forecasts and maintenance budgets/cost.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities through problem solving tools to identify root cause of on-going issues, create corrective action plans, and prioritize team resources to implement solutions.
