About The Position

One position for an hourly Maintenance Lead within the Maintenance Department is now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. The Hourly Maintenance Lead works with maintenance leadership to ensure excellence in achieving safety, quality, and uptime goals. This individual is responsible for participating in classroom, on the job training, and other developmental activities to learn the technical aspects of the manufacturing process, gain a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes, while also developing leadership and teambuilding skills. This individual will cross train in different maintenance support functions and lead maintenance teams during a supervisor's absence. They will also be assigned to work on special projects and initiatives as needed. This individual will train on various shifts and teams in a 24/7 operating environment and therefore must be willing to work any shift, including weekends and/or holidays, to be considered for this opportunity. The wage for this role is $39.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of maintenance experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and other Microsoft-based programs.

  • Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift which will include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and be ambulatory for the majority of an assigned 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend mechanical aspects of the manufacturing process.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering.
  • One to two years previous key leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in routine manufacturing concepts such as housekeeping, ergonomics, and labor efficiency.
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing.
  • Experience with LEAN processes.
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS system.

Responsibilities

  • Role model all standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, & creating a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Responsible for supporting maintenance leadership to provide management and oversight of hourly millwright and electricians in our Engineered Wood Products manufacturing facility.
  • Provide coverage for maintenance supervisors during vacations and other absences.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient execution of work by teams.
  • Ensure job and safety rules are understood and followed by all associates.
  • Role model safe work practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations and follow-up activities.
  • Actively involved in assigning work and evaluating job performance.
  • Support, coach, and provide timely feedback and direction to associates.
  • Participate in and/or lead unit initiatives and other assignments as required.
  • Understand the process flow and provide solutions to issues.
  • Immediately address all safety and housekeeping inspection reports.
  • Focus intently on process reliability by ensuring all PMs are completed at 98% or more and correct any PM that needs revising.
  • Notify the Supervisor if the equipment is down more than one (1) hour.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors during changeovers, work orders, and downtime occurrences.
  • Own and/or contribute to other mill functions, such as safety, environmental, or LEAN initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
