About The Position

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is currently seeking a Maintenance Lead for our facility in Abilene, KS. This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some on-call duties as required.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Supervisor or manager experience helpful, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in using Manager Plus software to monitor work orders, input inventory, setup new assets, build and implement maintenance schedules for equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with manufacturing equipment helpful
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Work with other maintenance employees to ensure they are up to date on scheduled preventative maintenance work and that work orders are completed by the due date.
  • Assign new work requests as they come in to ensure the right employee is dispatched based on skill and work load.
  • Place orders for spare parts as needed and reconcile packing lists with Accounts Payable.
  • Supervise employees to ensure compliance with production and quality standards for completing work.
  • Utilize Manager Plus software to monitor work orders, input inventory, setup new assets, build and implement maintenance schedules for equipment.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain time records for their team in ADP. Complete performance evaluations for approval by department manager.
  • Schedule on-call employees for each weekend and publicizes schedule and contact information to all department managers.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Maintain a productive and respectful relationship with employees and coworkers.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations with team.
  • Assist in training new maintenance employees and provide performance feedback to develop their skills.
  • Perform maintenance activities along with employees supervised.
  • Follow all Great Plains Mfg policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
