Perrigo Nutritionals, located in Georgia, VT is currently looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Lead who will work the Day Shift (6am - 6pm ET) on a biweekly repeating 2/2/3 schedule (i.e. Week A: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat; Week B: Sun, Wed, Thurs). This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum starting pay rate of $30.57 per hour. This position currently offers a $5,000 bonus! 2027 Plant Closure Disclaimer In March of 2025, Perrigo announced that the current operations at our facility in Georiga, VT will be migrated to our plant in Eau Claire, WI at the estimated sunset date of July 2027. However, production operations will continue until the closure date, so we want to make the remaining work experience with us as compelling as possible during that time! Perrigo is committed to offering a highly competitive severance package for employees who see this project through to completion. At the time of the plant closure, if your tenure length is at least 12 months, you would be entitled to 52 weeks (one year’s worth) of base pay, bonus, and company-paid COBRA coverage for up to 1-year following your exit. For employees with less than 12 months’ tenure at the time of plant closure, they will receive 36 weeks (9 months) of base pay, bonus, and COBRA coverage. These severance offerings would be consistent with the terms of the Perrigo Company plc Severance Policy for U.S. Employees. From a new employee’s start date with Perrigo through their role completion, employment with Perrigo will remain as full-time, regular, benefits-eligible, and at-will employment classification.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
  • Two or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills and good communication skills including presentation skills necessary.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; sound decision-making skills; teambuilding and demonstrated ability to motivate others with minimal supervision are important.
  • Other skills needed include ability to multi-task, use job related tools, effective record keeping skills and ability to encourage change.
  • Mathematical and technical ability is required along with reading comprehension skills and be able to read, speak and comprehend instructions in English or language of country as applicable, including procedure documents, as well as proofread alpha and numeric data.
  • Knowledge of and experience with technology tools to support the Operations function including computer literacy and familiarity with automated record systems, SAP and/or related systems and Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate through computer-based training systems.
  • Must meet all locally defined training requirements.
  • Strong teambuilding and motivational skills a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated progress towards an advanced degree preferred.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge and relevant experience is desired.
  • Trainer certification may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight to the daily organization and prioritization of the maintenance workflow at the site or for a specific group within Maintenance.
  • Provides instructions and guidance to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Ensures daily housekeeping and safety activity compliance.
  • Responsible for directing daily crewing, scheduling, determining and requesting overtime to address critical tasks. Acts a back-up to the Maintenance Planner position.
  • Directs technicians and contractors to ensure the preventative maintenance (PM) work orders are completed in a timely manner; emergency and planned work orders are effectively resolved; and chronic issues addressed.
  • Responsible for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliance, training, and provides direction and leadership to employees to resolve maintenance related or other area problems
  • Works with engineers on capital projects or related activities, assists in developing PM’s spare part inventory, and related drawings. Work directly with Quality and Operations to ensure compliance to regulation and resolve operational concerns. Assists with validation or quality concerns as required. Active in one or more teams as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, cost, or on time delivery. Completes safety/quality audits as required.
  • Continuously looks for and helps to implement improvements to the process to improve productivity, quality and reduce costs. Supports other leaders as needed and performs other related duties specific to the department as assigned.
  • Performs maintenance and troubleshoots the mechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment and facilities in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Performs machine rebuilding, repair and troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and moves equipment
  • Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians and all plant personnel across all shifts in a team environment
  • Demonstrates strong ability, adapts, and collaborates with on-going predictive and preventative maintenance measures to meet continuous improvement goals.
