About The Position

The Maintenance Lead - HVAC (U) assigns and coordinates the activities of mechanics in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems and equipment throughout the assigned facilities. Further, the incumbent ensures a productive workforce that supports the smooth and uninterrupted operations of institutional functions.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepares and maintains accurate records of equipment and preventative maintenance.
Monitors maintenance schedules to assure tasks are performed in a timely manner.
Maintains current knowledge of HVAC and safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
Examines facility conditions to determine whether repairs or services are needed.
Trains staff on how to maintain and service equipment and related components.
Inspects completed work to verify performance standards and repair requirements.
Keeps daily logs of work, performed and pending, up-to-date.
Participates in the maintenance and repair functions.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
