About The Position

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Journeyman Maintenance role at our Ottawa Manufacturing Plant. This role will be onsite. Pay rate for this role will be $36.75 an hr. The work hours are 3rd Shift. In this role you will Maintain efficient and safe operations of all equipment, machinery to support plant operations in the manufacture of Whirlpool refrigeration products that meet production and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman’s Card OR 5+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Industrial Maintenance courses or technical certificate preferred
  • Experience with metal stamping presses and thermoforming machine molds
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safety Procedures and Regulations at Whirlpool
  • Understanding of mathematics (trigonometry, geometry)
  • Work well on own without direct supervision but able to respond to directions and job assignments
  • Work well with other employees in a team environment
  • Locate, trouble – shoot and correct die and mold problems
  • Flexibility to work long hours and other work schedules as needed

Responsibilities

  • Locate, troubleshoot and repair breakdowns and problems of machinery and complete required paperwork
  • Use Lean principles, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), PM and AM support, EWO tools, and 5S as a tool to help our plant run more efficiently
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on all equipment, machinery as scheduled, per guidelines and complete required forms and paperwork
  • Perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions
  • Handle all materials and tools and perform all electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics maintenance and repair of all equipment, machinery as needed
  • Identify and locate problems and take corrective action in a timely manner to reduce production downtime and to assure all equipment and machinery is in efficient and safe operating condition
  • Work Effectively on own without direct supervision but respond to other employees and supervisor’s requests and work effectively in a team environment
  • Upgrade and rebuild equipment and machinery, install electrical drops, assemble new components, design new circuits, etc. as required to assure production lines are running correctly and safely. Ensure machines and equipment are maintained in good, safe condition
  • Experience of Relay Logic, Programmable Controllers, 3 – Phase Electrical Circuits / Motors and Direct and alternating Current Theory.
  • Experience in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics Maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to pass LOTO test after training
