About The Position

The Purchasing & Facilities Department has an available full-time job opening for the position of Maintenance & Janitor Technician. This position is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary, and well-maintained in keeping with federal, state and local health codes and regulations. This position will also perform general maintenance of building and Blood Center fleet.

Requirements

High School graduate or Equivalent
Valid Texas driver license required, with clean driving record
1-3 years working knowledge of janitorial/housekeeping equipment
Ability to handle floor care equipment
Integrity & ability to work independently
Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage time
Knowledge & experience using power tools
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and building repairs

Nice To Haves

Maintenance & facilities background experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Clean facility areas including team offices, waiting areas, kitchens, restrooms, donor drawing areas, laboratory, blood component preparation areas, parking lot and surrounding areas, etc. Cleaning duties include but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.
Empty waste containers and trash from all areas of facility; dispose of trash and any medical waste according to facility policies and procedures.
Document daily duties; restock and manage supply inventory.
Perform floor maintenance including: daily disinfecting/mopping, weekly buffing, waxing, and stripping. Maintain clean and spot free carpeted areas.
Perform building maintenance to ensure a safe and operational facility that may include repairs throughout the building inside and out.
Assist with Blood Center fleet upkeep, vacuum, wash as needed or upon request.
