GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment. To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement. Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Amcor to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur. Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks. To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Amcor. Meet daily production goals and departmental objectives as directed. Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals. Reports daily on Master Cleaning Schedule. Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area. Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production. Communicates production information at shift change. Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA system and/or phone, business use only. Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Uses plant systems to maintain an adequate spare parts inventory. Installs and maintains high-speed industrial process equipment for plastic containers, power, control, and logic circuits for all production process and support equipment. Installs and maintains air compressors, plant air circulation systems, cooling and heating units and plant lighting. Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs all electrical equipment, solid state circuits, components, logic boards, transducers, amplifiers, and complex timing and inspection devices. Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems, [production equipment, facility, and grounds as required. Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical and mechanical problems and coordinates through supervisor to resolve. Troubleshoots repairs, installs, erects, moves, and/or dismantles all types of machinery and auxiliary production equipment. Inspects job site and equipment to be dismantled, erected, or moved; analyzes blueprints and schematics; estimates weight of loads to be handled, lifted, clearances, and recommends support equipment needed. Fabricates sheet metal and structural units as needed: guarding, steps, stairs, conveyors, elevators, platforms, and sets in place. Performs various manual or mechanical productions functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the production equipment to meet customer specifications. Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds production equipment. Performs on-the-job training and development of assigned personnel and trains process technicians to troubleshoot production equipment. Conducts inspection of in-process materials and in-process and finished product. Performs record keeping duties as required under the direction of management. Programs logic controls for proper equipment operation Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer and automated plants systems

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Job related experience for three (3) years minimum.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment, solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, and computers, inspection and digital devices, and the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
  • Must be able to effectively train personnel.
  • Must be able to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to use electronic test equipment.
  • Must possess an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and electrical.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to obtain required equipment certification such as PIT, Genie Boom Industrial Certificate preferred but not required
  • Supplies own tools sufficient to perform maintenance tasks in the disciplines of the scope needed to perform assigned duties. This includes basic electrical test tools, industrial hand tools, air tools, hand tools, plumbing tools, welding tools, and specialty tools needed for specific job tasks in blow molding, injection, and mold repair / maintenance.
  • Must also supply own toolbox to adequately secure tools.
  • Must meet minimum requirements or qualifications as stated in the job posting.
  • Must have less than 7 points for full-time/3.5 points for part-time
  • Must be in good standing – no current Final Warnings
  • Must be in current position for 12 months (New hire would be considered if no qualified co-workers have applied)
  • Must have mechanical, electrical and electronics aptitude and skill set
  • Any exceptions to these eligibility requirements must be reviewed and approved by the HRM, Hiring Manager and Plant Manager
