About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor (Group Lead) is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations to ensure all equipment, facilities, and systems operate safely and efficiently. This role coordinates and directs maintenance staff, manages work orders, and ensures the timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Supervisor also supports operational reliability by enforcing maintenance standards, optimizing resources, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy equipment production.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience leading or supervising maintenance teams, technicians, or skilled trades personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial equipment safety practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Comfortable in an in-person office environment
  • Must be customer service oriented, flexible, and have a high energy level
  • Must have excellent follow-through skills
  • Must have a professional, polished, and sophisticated demeanor and be comfortable in most social settings
  • Must be open to domestic and international travel
  • Desire and proven ability to learn and grow

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced certifications such as PLC programming, industrial automation, or maintenance reliability (e.g., CMRP, CMRT).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Technical competence is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of production machinery, including welders, laser cutters, hydraulic presses, conveyors, and heavy fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Lead and schedule maintenance technicians to support 24/7 manufacturing operations, ensuring critical-path equipment receives priority attention.
  • Manage and troubleshoot breakdowns involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems common in heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Implement and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs, using tools such as vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication schedules to extend equipment life.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production lines, tooling, cranes, and material‑handling systems to identify wear, safety risks, or performance issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production managers and engineering teams to support design changes, process improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage parts inventory and procurement, ensuring critical spares for large‑scale machinery are stocked to reduce repair lead times.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, including lockout/tagout, equipment guarding, rigging safety, and compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff on troubleshooting techniques, equipment-specific procedures, and safe work practices relevant to heavy industrial equipment.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance documentation, including work orders, equipment history, downtime reports, and compliance records for audits and continuous improvement efforts.
