This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $32.50 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. We are looking for a Maintenance Group Lead to join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Marysville, OH. This position will lead crews of maintenance mechanics and electricians during the day-to-day maintenance department operations in addition to being the primary point of contact for the operations team. They will assign work orders, if needed, to team members via the planners schedule (or CMMS in lieu of a schedule). Ascertain the level of response needed to remedy production downtime and escalate to supervisors if necessary. Perform the normal duties of their vocation as well, be it a mechanical technician or an electrical technician.

Requirements

• High School (HS) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• 2 - 4 Years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Scotts Miracle Gro preferred
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 5 maintenance technicians while following a maintenance schedule and responding to emergency work calls.
• Ability to estimate work and time required to complete particular jobs.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures, production processes, and plant organization.
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance troubleshooting and applications, including: welding, rigging, cutting, layout and design, fabrication, repair, and equipment installation.
• Basic computer skills for CMMS and electronic communications.

Nice To Haves

• 2 - 4 Years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Scotts Miracle Gro preferred

Responsibilities

• Assign daily work to technicians on the crew from the planners' schedules or CMMS in the absence of a schedule.
• Complete normal mechanical or electrical technician work.
• Be the point of contact for production issues, including assigning technicians to breakdowns.
• Ensure proper information sharing with oncoming maintenance crews during shift turnover meetings to discuss any ongoing issues and important topics that occurred during the shift.
