About The Position

Graceworks is a non-profit organization that houses and cares for adults with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Full Time Maintenance Generalist to assist in supporting the properties our residents reside in as well as our Day Program Facility. The Maintennace Generalist will maintain and makes repairs and installations to buildings, equipment, systems and grounds belonging to Graceworks Enhanced Living. Includes plumbing, electrical, heating, carpentry, drywall and painting, air conditioning, and landscaping trades

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with fewer than 6 points on driving record
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to pass background check.
  • Be able to demonstrate well-rounded maintenance skills, i.e., possess a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, finish carpentry, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning trades (gas and electric furnaces, as well as heat pump units).
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Should be able to read written directions, including schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Performing a Variety of General Maintenance, Repair and Service Duties in Group Homes for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
  • Provides either direct care for grounds, including turf maintenance (chemical and mowing), edging and trimming of trees, shrubs, or will supervise independent contractors to complete these tasks. Completes tasks related to snow removal and application of de-icing chemicals on sidewalks when under one inch of snow and will supervise independent contractors to ensure snow removal from parking lots.
  • Completes work orders for homes that may include minor repairs. Staff are not to repair residents’ furniture or electrical items. (including TV’s, lamps and small appliances)
  • Will assist the administration in maintaining and updating the computerized maintenance management system. Duties may include entering work order into the system, closing out completed work orders, and completing regularly scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as required.
  • Works with the Supervisor to complete tasks in accordance with HUD, Licensure, Federal and State standards.
  • Understands and can complete work related tasks as they relate to using a copier, fax, computerized maintenance program, email and other related computer programs.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
  • Performs other duties as directed
