About The Position

This position is responsible for general maintenance throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able to use basic hand tools.
• Basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing
• 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance
• Able to read & understand assignments
• Able to communicate orally & in writing
• Able to hear/respond to two-way radio
• Able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors
• Basic knowledge of math
• Able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.
• May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.
• Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.
• Must have at least 1 year of maintenance experience & 6 months of continuous employment in the last 2 years.
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
• Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.

• Should have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Should have good oral communication skills to discuss issues with the Maintenance Supervisor
• Needs to be able to understand information contained in Maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
• Receive training as required
• Perform various positions as required/assigned
• Perform duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motors, motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems.
• Monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training.
