Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) or more years of related experience in maintenance, boiler plant, and HVAC equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, electrical, and plumbing required
  • Knowledge of local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations; familiarity with supplies and equipment used in maintenance and engineering preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Physical stamina (ability to stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Make repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment as needed.
  • Perform other repairs, replacements, and installations which may include drywall, plumbing, electrical, light bulbs, fixtures and ballasts, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, washer/dryer, household appliances, water tower, chiller equipment, commercial kitchen, medical equipment, fan coil units, heating units, televisions, and physical therapy equipment.
  • Participate in external and internal community and equipment painting.
  • Perform journeyman level maintenance and repair work across NLCS communities including plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, facilities, and equipment.
  • Perform boiler room operations and maintenance; maintain storage room maintenance.
  • Conduct chemical water testing for boilers, chill water, and cooling towers.
  • Perform other duties as required.
