Maintenance, repair, modification and installation of plant equipment, and structure, to obtain maximum efficiencies and longevity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preffered
- Basic mechanical background, cutting and welding knowledge. Trade school or military training helpful. Understanding of basic electricity, its application in and industrial setting.
- Power and hand tools, various cutting and welding equipment and electrical testing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Repair and preventative maintenance of plant processing equipment, troubleshooting electrical problems, instrument controllers, installation of conduit, lift trucks and equipment overhaul.
- Repair and preventative maintenance of plant support systems, such as compressed air, steam, water, sewer, heating, ventilation and air conditioning etc. (refrigeration ammonia)
- Fabrication and repair, working with the variety of materials found throughout the equipment and structure:
- Stainless steel fabrication and repair.
- Aluminum fabrication and repair.
- Ferrous metals fabrication and repair.
- Industrial coatings, preparation for and application of.
- Proper applications of caulking and grouting materials.
- Utilization of assorted welding and cutting equipment.
- Tig and stick welding
- Spot welders
- Oxy Acetylene and Plasma Torches
- Disassembly and assembly of plant equipment for cleaning repair.
- Equipment changeovers for production requirements.
- Repair and maintenance of pneumatic control systems.
- Shop area cleaning and organization.
