About The Position

Performs various cleaning duties to buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Safety Sensitive Position: All safety sensitive employees are required to submit to drug and alcohol tests as a condition of employment in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40, 29 & 655 of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Program. MetroLink Tulsa’s Drug & Alcohol policy has Zero Tolerance for drug and alcohol.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have ability to operate cleaning and other equipment used in the cleaning of equipment, buildings, and grounds, such as steam cleaner, buffer, and forklift, etc.
  • Must be able to read and understand directions given on work cards and orders, write legible to complete orders, and receive parts and supplies.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Must have a Class D Operators License.
  • Must have received no moving violations within the last 3 years and have no DUI/DWI convictions.
  • Extensive walking and standing required at least 90% of the time.
  • Requires lifting a maximum of 70 to 100lbs. and lifting parts and materials overhead.
  • Requires ability to withstand exposure to negative surroundings such as uncomfortable weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals, and extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to climb on a ladder or other equipment to heights such as building roofs at MTTA facilities.
  • Must be able to crawl or stoop into tight areas and lay horizontal under a vehicle.
  • Requires ability to hear directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.
  • Must be willing to work shift hours and days as assigned.
  • Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general cleaning duties at MTTA facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment subject to inspection utilizing automatic and manual cleaning equipment.
  • Service and clean all equipment.
  • Check and maintain all fluid levels in fleet vehicles.
  • Clean sewer lines and bathrooms.
  • Patch building roofs and parking lot.
  • Fuel, oil, and grease, etc., buses and other MTTA vehicles.
  • Pick up parts from supply warehouse, stores, and runs errands for Maintenance Department by driving a MTTA vehicle.
  • Move furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Probe vehicles and restock media for fareboxes.
  • Wash vehicle exterior as required.
  • Assist with ice and snow removal during winter weather events.
  • Pick up debris, sweep out, thoroughly mop vehicles, wipe down driver and passenger areas and disinfect.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed or required.
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
