About The Position

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician supports the local facility, assists the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) manager in compliance tasks, delivers according to the preventative maintenance program on all assigned machinery, performs proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, and installs new equipment and systems according to the engineering team’s guidance. This is a 100% on- site position located in Boulder, CO.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Possess initiative, able to work independently, is reliable and thorough.
  • Ability and willingness to read documents and implement such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • High school diploma
  • 2 years or more work experience in a manufacturing environment as a facilities or maintenance technician

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical certification
  • Thermography certification
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and motor controls experience
  • Fabrication, welding, and machining experience

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations by responding to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner; including conveyors, pumps, cappers, fillers, labelers, environmental chambers, refrigerators, robots.
  • Research equipment manuals and interpret engineering drawings to perform repairs.
  • Will be required to be on-call on a schedule with the other maintenance technicians.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and set up mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, piping and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems on manufacturing and facilities equipment.
  • Perform thermal inspections of electrical equipment utilizing an infrared camera.
  • Understand and follow Veolia safety policy and applicable standards; including lock out tag out (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE), hot work, elevated work, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70e, National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Build, wire, and install electrical enclosures.
  • Operate shop equipment safely; including lathe, mill, drill press, welder, lifting hoists.
  • Operate mobile equipment safely; including forklift and scissor lift.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, housekeeping & lubrication tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough maintenance records.
  • Supervise vendors to ensure safety policies are being followed and projects remain on plan.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance and respond to facility issues, including being on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep the facility in good running order.
  • Support with Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS), compliance, quality, and security tasks.
  • Print, program, and issue employee badges.
  • Assists engineers with project work.
  • Contributes and participates in capital projects.
