About The Position

The Maintenance & Equipment Technician supports reliable operation, repair, and uptime of manufacturing and facility equipment, including deposition coating chambers (IBS & APS), polishing tools, and essential building systems. This role is hands‑on, technical, and central to maintaining safe and stable production operations at our Longmont site.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, vacuum systems, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and hands‑on experience will be considered.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance‑related software tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, customer‑focused mindset.
  • Regular, prolonged use of a computer, keyboard, and digital tools.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout production and mechanical equipment areas.
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces, including behind, beneath, or inside equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights, including on top of equipment or elevated platforms, using ladders or lifts with required safety protocols.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or positioning of heavy parts or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise, moving machinery, vacuum systems, and chemical‑handling areas; PPE required in designated zones.
  • Ability to gown up and work in cleanroom environments as needed.
  • Assigned to 2nd shift; weekends may be required as needed.
  • Strict adherence to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and all PPE requirements.
  • Certain positions with IDEX Corporation and its business units require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school, military technical training, or an associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in cleanroom or high‑precision manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and improvement activities on deposition chambers, polishing tools, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, and control‑system issues.
  • Document work accurately in Fiix (CMMS), including work orders, modifications, and improvements.
  • Coordinate outside vendors for repairs, maintenance, and specialized service needs.
  • Procure spare parts and consumables; maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Support facility‑related maintenance such as HVAC, plumbing, infrastructure, and building systems.
  • Assist with hazardous and non‑hazardous waste reclaim processes.
  • Identify and recommend reliability, safety, and performance improvements.
  • Communicate clearly with maintenance, production, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Comply with all ATF/IDEX safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support business operations.
