About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to modernize critical regulatory records, improve facility organization, and support operational efficiency across the site. As a Maintenance & Engineering Intern, you’ll help transition legacy inspection records into digital systems, develop mapping and numbering tools that improve site navigation, and support space‑planning initiatives that directly impact daily operations. Digitizing Regulatory Records — Convert inspection documents such as pressure vessel inspections, railroad crossing inspections, and other compliance‑related records into digital formats for long‑term storage and accessibility. Preventive Maintenance Integration — Incorporate inspection frequencies and requirements into the preventive maintenance (PM) system to support timely scheduling and compliance tracking. Pressure Vessel Mapping — Create clear, accurate location maps for all pressure vessels to support inspections, maintenance, and regulatory audits. Building Numbering System — Develop a standardized building numbering system to replace letter‑based identifiers, improving clarity for employees, contractors, and emergency responders. Racking Layout Development — Design a racking plan using existing racking from another location, ensuring efficient use of space and alignment with operational needs. End‑of‑Internship Leadership Presentation — Deliver a polished, professional presentation to the management team summarizing your findings, recommendations, and project impact. THE ENVIRONMENT Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to. Applicants must be able to work in a manufacturing industrial environment and be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a U.S.-accredited college, university, or technical school with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Data Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and digital file organization tools, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic CAD skills for mapping, layout updates and simple design tasks.
  • Foundational design and project skills, including the ability to support racking layout design and communicate with external partners when needed.
