The Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the hotel property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and team members. Demonstrate basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in building HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, minor carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, light bulb replacement, ballast replacement, TV programming, electronic door locks. Essential functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Perform general and preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in a timely manner. including HVAC, Kitchen and Laundry Equipment, Ice Machines, Plumbing Systems, Boilers and Pumps including cleaning, lubrication, repair and replacement. Change light bulbs, vinyl repairs, painting, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, repair sheet rock, wall coverings and tile in guest rooms, common areas as well as the pool and exercise room. 2. Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas. 3. Repair and program hotel electronic lock system. 4. Make multiple daily visual inspections of interior and exterior of the property and equipment, take required readings and document accordingly. Remove debris and trash. 5. Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams and have knowledge of utility shut offs to the building in the event of maintenance or emergency. 6. Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records. Report any needed parts, materials or supplies to management that need to be ordered in a timely manner. 7. Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report, remove and correct any maintenance problems, safety hazards, to prevent accidents and injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials. Wear/utilize all Personal Protective equipment. Read and understand chemical warning labels and make a safe working environment a priority. Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes. 8. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address the guests’ service needs. Follow proper procedures for entry into guest rooms. 9. Handle all guest concerns/complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a positive impression with the guest on resolving any concerns/complaints. Follow-up to ensure complaints or problems are resolved and action is taken to avoid recurrence. 10. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Operate radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with hotel staff. 11. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. 12. Perform other job duties as assigned.
