Requirements

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver results efficiently.
  • Professional and diplomatic interpersonal style; able to motivate and work with diverse personalities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related tools.
  • Certificate from a vocational institution with completed apprenticeship in plumbing or electrical repair required.
  • Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience plus 3 years in plumbing, electrical, or painting trades (or equivalent education/experience).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available to respond to emergencies during off-hours.
  • Heavy Work: Exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, typing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
  • Close vision for data, inspections, computer use, and detailed work.
  • Visual acuity to operate vehicles, heavy equipment, and assess accuracy and neatness of tasks.
  • Work occurs both indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, chemicals, high places, and high heat.
  • May include confined spaces, narrow passageways, and areas that could cause claustrophobia.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC training and pool/spa experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical, and related maintenance activities.
  • Notify management of major repairs or additions needed for lighting, heating, or ventilation systems.
  • Tend furnace, air-conditioning, and boiler equipment as needed; replace AC filters.
  • Respond promptly to guest service requests in line with company policy.
  • Remain accessible to the Front Office and Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain a clean and safe pool area.
  • Complete standard preventative maintenance procedures for equipment.
  • Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Monitor utility meter readings daily.
  • Program phone equipment and HVAC controllers as required.
  • Maintain appearance of the hotel interior and exterior, including painting, staining, and repairs.
  • Repair wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, doors, and other finishes.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring proper par levels.
  • Inspect and repair guest rooms and common areas, addressing minor issues directly and reporting major issues to the Chief Engineer.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed.
  • Learn and follow all emergency, safety, equipment operation, and lockout/tag-out procedures.
  • Uphold company policies, uniform standards, and professional guest interaction.
  • Support O’Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
