About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a national company providing community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those facing mental health, behavioral, or significant medical challenges. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating a variety of services to ensure buildings, grounds, and properties are consistently well-maintained and in good repair. This role involves maintaining the condition of properties across all aspects of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and painting work. You will personally complete maintenance and remodeling tasks and, with the support of the maintenance supervisor, arrange for outside contractors when necessary. Effective time management is crucial to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple demands simultaneously. This is an unlimited driving position, with mileage reimbursed per Federal standards, and you should expect to work at 2-4 sites per day.

Requirements

  • At least two years of building maintenance experience, including heating, plumbing, electrical, and general repair
  • Ability to evaluate cost-effectiveness and implement preventative maintenance measures
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills
  • Responsible, mature, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable working with individuals living in our group homes with various disabilities
  • High school diploma required

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related areas
  • Experience with drywall repair
  • Finish carpentry skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a variety of services to assure buildings, grounds, and properties are always well maintained and in good repair
  • Maintain condition of the properties with regards to all aspects of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and painting work
  • Personally complete maintenance and remodeling tasks
  • Arrange to have maintenance and remodeling items done by outside contractors as needed, with support of the maintenance supervisor
  • Manage time effectively with operations to keep up with tight deadlines and many other demands at one time
  • Expect to be working 2-4 sites per day
