Maintenance Engineer
About The Position
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to: Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests. Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members. Basic electrical and plumbing repairs. Carpentry and screening. Interior and exterior painting. Changing locks, installing smoke alarms. Pool maintenance. Maintain shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition. Periodically clean gutters, drain water heaters. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel. Deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (1) year of maintenance experience.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening and locks.
- Proper tool and chemical use.
- English speaking or bilingual.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments.
- Valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance.
- Good driving record.
- Dependable.
- Frequent walking indoors/outdoors, climbing stairs and ladders, standing, sitting.
- Repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, squatting, lifting and carrying.
- Reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
- Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 50 lbs. or with use of dolly.
- Exposure to chemicals.
- Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
- Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.
