About The Position

Foundry Maintenance Engineer ensures maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency of heavy industrial casting equipment through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Key responsibilities include managing PLC systems, hydraulic/pneumatic repairs, developing preventive maintenance schedules, and supervising, or performing, hands-on repairs on critical machinery.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably in a foundry, casting, or metallurgical environment.
  • Traits: Hands-on approach, ability to work in high-heat environments, and flexibility for on-call or emergency shutdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive/Predictive Maintenance: Developing and executing schedules to minimize unplanned downtime, which often leads to costly bottlenecks.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnosing issues in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLC programming (Siemens/Allen Bradley) and schematic editing.
  • Equipment Specialization: Working on furnaces, conveyors, robotic pouring units, sand systems, and molding machines.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforcing rigorous safety protocols (Lockout/Tagout, PPE) and ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations.
  • Project Management & Improvement: Recommending equipment upgrades, managing spare parts inventory, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
