About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing engineering-level maintenance, including diagnostics, calibration, and troubleshooting for production equipment. Key duties involve executing preventive maintenance plans, performing corrective maintenance on automated production equipment during assigned shifts, and developing technical specifications for automation components. The role also includes conducting routine inspections of control systems, managing automation programs, assisting with system commissioning and integration, maintaining detailed engineering documentation, and providing training to technicians and operators. This position supports production automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering-level maintenance for production equipment, including PLC/HMI diagnostics, sensor calibration, motor/drive troubleshooting, and root-cause failure analysis based on work orders and engineering requests.
  • Execute preventive maintenance plans for automated equipment, including lubrication, component replacement, system calibration, and performance optimization to minimize failures and scrap.
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on automated production equipment during assigned shifts, including electrical, mechanical, PLC, and control-system related issues.
  • Develop technical specifications for automation components, spare parts, and system upgrades; evaluate compatibility with existing control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of automation and control systems, identify risks impacting system reliability, and implement preventive engineering measures to reduce downtime.
  • Perform regular backup, version control, and revision of automation programs (PLC, HMI, motion control), ensuring configuration integrity and system reliability.
  • Assist automation and software engineers with on-site commissioning, system integration, and functional testing; complete debugging tasks according to engineering requirements.
  • Maintain detailed engineering documentation, including troubleshooting logs, preventive maintenance reports, system configuration records, and change-control documentation.
  • Provide training to technicians and operators on equipment operation, basic automation concepts, safety procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Perform other engineering-related tasks as assigned to support production automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
