About The Position

Maintains preventive maintenance for all kitchen equipment, machinery and electrical equipment. Maintains inventory of parts and material for electrical, HVAC, and kitchen equipment. Performs maintenance and repair functions on major system breakdowns, which includes diagnosing, trouble shooting, repairing or replacing. Schedules operative and regular preventative maintenance of all HVAC and refrigeration and kitchen equipment. Preforms preventive and regular maintenance of all equipment. Adheres to the operations procedures as required by all state and local codes. Maintains a log of all equipment status and inventory of parts and material necessary for repairs. Monitors, trouble-shoots and responds to facilities work orders using the project management system. Maintains all mechanical and cosmetic items in guest rooms and public areas. Monitors work load, and advises supervisor of work overload. Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area in the Engineering Shop. Prepares daily work forms. Routinely inspects all lighting throughout the Hotel and Casino, identifying potential problems, and resolving same. Responds to maintenance requests and house calls. Maintains Pool and Spa facilities as assigned. Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained. Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company. General Maintenance II is required to assist all specialty craft technicians as needed. Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Commercial Kitchen Equipment Certification
  • Universal Refrigeration Certification or Universal Refrigeration License
  • Commercial HVAC License
  • Commercial Plumbing License
  • Must have minimal knowledge of plumbing, electrical and air conditioning maintenance.
  • Occupationally significant combination of Vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training and/or on-the-job training preferred.
  • One to three years as a General Maintenance Technician in the gaming/hospitality industry and possess required valid licenses.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Minimum skills - ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Frequently climb a 12 foot ladder.
  • Basic Computer Skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Basic skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
