SURFACE MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN The Surface Maintenance Electrician (E/I Technician) is responsible for installation and repair of electrical systems for heavy industrial stationary and mobile material moving equipment, buildings, and facilities. The Surface Electrician will have some E/I technician responsibilities like maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility. They will troubleshoot, repair, preventative maintenance (PM), calibrate, install plant or mine electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment throughout the entire plant or mine, including med-low voltage systems, AC and DC systems, lighting, motors, receptacles, starters, drives, power supply wiring (including conduit), transformers, programmable controllers, electrical components as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Follows National Electrical Code (NEC) and Mosaic's standards in a safe and expedient manner. Requirements

  • Strong electrical background, understanding of instruments and PLC control systems, and high voltage distribution systems.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks, follow instructions, analyze, monitor, and learn new processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, and should have a good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Must demonstrate skills in planning, scheduling, and exercising independent judgment and decision making.
  • Candidate must be team oriented and willing to participate in plant safety, environmental policies and procedures, production results, product quality, and cost performance.
  • Must be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.
  • The candidate must have good attendance and be able to use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties.
  • This position requires a candidate with industrial plant electrical experience.
  • Applicant must be capable of troubleshooting control circuits and implement repairs.
  • Standard industrial hand tools required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in personal computers and programmable logic controllers a plus.
  • A state journeyman's license preferred.
  • Must be able to perform general maintenance which includes welding, cutting, installation and/or repair of equipment and instruments.
  • Knowledge in HVAC a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and repair of electrical systems for heavy industrial stationary and mobile material moving equipment, buildings, and facilities.
  • Maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, preventative maintenance (PM), calibrate, install plant or mine electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment throughout the entire plant or mine, including med-low voltage systems, AC and DC systems, lighting, motors, receptacles, starters, drives, power supply wiring (including conduit), transformers, programmable controllers, electrical components as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Follows National Electrical Code (NEC) and Mosaic's standards in a safe and expedient manner.
  • Use hand tools and testers to maintain and repair motors, starters, drives, low-med-hi voltage systems and instrumentation throughout the entire plant.
  • Replace, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, or clean electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Perform electrical, electronic, cable repairs, and installations on low and high voltage equipment.
  • Actively participate in the “Total Productive Maintenance” process to maximize plant efficiency; communicate and coordinate activities with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties safely and efficiently.
