About The Position

In this role located at our Fort Madison, IA Blade Facility. In this role, you'll perform installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and alterations to complex machinery, machine tools, lifting equipment, and fixtures. You'll record all required data for repairs and installations, interpret and implement corrective actions from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions, and recommend appropriate corrective actions in line with referenced specifications and accepted industry and shop practices. You'll also perform mechanical construction work as required to support safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a 2-year technical degree in industrial electrical or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical and mechanical maintenance, print reading, and the use of MS Office tools.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain PIME, crane, forklift, and LOTO certifications per company requirements.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and kneeling for 8+ hours per day.
  • Availability for overtime and flexible scheduling, including up to 12-hour shifts and off-day work as needed.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of equipment including electrical boxes, wiring, hydraulic and lubrication systems, and molding machinery.
  • Accurately document maintenance findings, inspections, and corrective actions in the work order and log systems.
  • Interpret drawings, sketches, and diagrams to determine necessary tools, materials, and procedures for each task.
  • Inspect and maintain lifting equipment (chains, cables, shackles, and lifting beams) to ensure safe operation and compliance with standards.
  • Fabricate, weld, braze, and install piping or conduit as required to support equipment functionality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting team initiatives and providing training or guidance to peers.
