About The Position

As an electrician at Siemens Energy Large Power Transformers, you will play a critical role in maintaining the factory's operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to ensure high level of availability of the machines implementing zero breakdown culture. You will utilize and continuously develop your troubleshooting skills to repair electrical components, such as control panels, wiring, motors, and circuit breakers, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with the maintenance team, process engineers, and operators to address urgent issues that may impact production schedules, all while strictly adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. In addition, you will assist with equipment installations and upgrades, ensuring all work complies with manufacturer specifications, technical requirements, and electrical codes. Accurate documentation will be essential, as you will record all maintenance activities, update logs in systems like SAP and COMOS, and actively participate in team meetings to review progress and plan upcoming tasks. Your contributions will directly support the factory's goal of maximizing operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in maintenance, education in electrical, electromechanical or mechatronics (required)
  • Discipline and organization in executing tasks
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills (communication with the internal maintenance team, suppliers, and production team)
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in PLC programming (Siemens will be considered a plus)
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (COMOS and/or SAP will be considered a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs of electrical systems to ensure optimal equipment performance, reduce unexpected failures, and extend asset lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and Diagnose Electrical Issues: Systematically identify root causes of electrical faults using diagnostic tools and technical expertise, implementing timely solutions to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in Genba walks to observe real-time operations, engage with frontline teams, and identify areas for process optimization. Monitor KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) to support data-driven reliability improvements.
  • Manage Equipment Documentation and Planning: Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including schematics and maintenance records. Assist in developing equipment trees to support structured maintenance planning and component tracking.
  • Conduct Component and Failure Analysis: Analyze historical data and equipment tree parameters to assess component lifespans, schedule proactive replacements, and collaborate on root cause analysis to prevent recurring failures.
  • Ensure Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to electrical safety standards and company protocols during all maintenance activities, fostering a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
