About The Position

Maintenance Director Heather Hill Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director with prior skilled nursing or healthcare facility experience to lead plant operations and ensure full regulatory compliance. This is not a general commercial maintenance role. Candidates must understand the unique life safety, CMS, infection control, and survey requirements of a skilled nursing facility. Position Overview The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all building operations, preventative maintenance programs, life safety systems, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance within a skilled nursing environment. This role is critical to maintaining survey readiness, resident safety, and uninterrupted facility operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, Hospital, or Healthcare Setting (required)
  • Demonstrated experience managing Life Safety compliance in a regulated healthcare environment (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Experience participating in healthcare surveys and inspections
  • Knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass all required background and drug screenings
  • Candidates without healthcare facility experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the Life Safety binder in accordance with CMS and state regulations
  • Ensure compliance with AHCA, CMS, OSHA, and local health department requirements
  • Oversee fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, generators, and emergency preparedness plans
  • Participate in state surveys and life safety inspections
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules specific to healthcare equipment
  • Ensure proper infection control practices related to maintenance and environmental safety
  • Coordinate licensed vendors familiar with healthcare compliance standards
  • Maintain documentation logs for compliance review
  • Lead maintenance staff while ensuring resident safety is never compromised
