About The Position

The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall safety and maintenance of a senior living community. This includes overseeing the community's safety program, ensuring a secure resident home and working environment, and maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. A key aspect of the role is sustaining a preventative maintenance program for all community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The Director is also tasked with hiring, training, scheduling, and leading the maintenance team to provide exceptional services. Responsibilities extend to performing mechanical repairs, replacements, and installations of minor equipment, hardware, and controls, as well as maintaining water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment, and plumbing systems. The role requires efficient completion of all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency. Additionally, the Director manages chemical supplies, ensures proper storage and usage, implements safety protocols to prevent incidents, and ensures compliance with OSHA requirements. Exterior maintenance duties are also part of the role. The Director is responsible for delivering fire and disaster education and conducting preparation and drill activities with residents and team members. A crucial element of the position is engaging with residents compassionately, fostering a warm and supportive environment that reflects values of love, compassion, and dignity.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
  • Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the maintenance team in providing exceptional services
  • Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls
  • Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment
  • Maintain community plumbing systems
  • Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
  • Conducts inventory on chemical supplies and complies with proper storage and usage procedures
  • Implements safety protocols and procedures to avert incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Performs exterior maintenance duties as necessary
  • Delivers fire and disaster education and performs preparation and drill activities with residents and team members
  • Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
