About The Position

The Maintenance Director leads and directs all aspects of the facility maintenance department. This includes developing maintenance plans, establishing robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs, scheduling all maintenance activities, leading, coordinating, and performing equipment repairs, and overseeing outside contractors. The role involves maintaining records of repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties, and inspections. The Director is responsible for supervising Maintenance Staff, which includes hiring and training new employees, scheduling work crews, and assigning roles and responsibilities. This position serves as a key leader in Maintenance and Safety Compliance, working closely and collaborating with other internal and external personnel and stakeholders. Principal accountabilities include overseeing maintenance operations (40%), developing maintenance plans and policies (20%), ensuring compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations (10%), coordinating inspections and audits (10%), maintaining records (10%), and creating budgets for capital and inventory (10%).

Requirements

  • Technical or bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Equivalent degree in facility operations, business, or management
  • Equivalent experience with military or other structured training / experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial maintenance management
  • Experience with Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience or equivalent with combined education / experience
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong technical Skills

  • Problem-solving skills
