About The Position

Brightview Senior Living is looking for a Maintenance Director to join the team at Brightview Port Jefferson on Long Island! Brightview Port Jefferson is a beautiful senior living community that offers Independent and Assisted Living apartment homes as well Brightview's signature Wellspring Village which is dedicated to those needing memory care services. The Maintenance Director at a Brightview community serves as a leader and coach to our team of maintenance technicians and housekeeping associates to ensure a safe, attractive, clean, well-maintained and vibrant living experience for our current and future residents and guests. In this role you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the building (common areas and resident apartments), grounds and equipment at the community, assuring its good repair, cleanliness, attractive appearance and safety. You will build, develop and manage your team and serve as a role model for others to embrace a culture of safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
2+ years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
Proficiency with hand and power tools, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and painting.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer orientation to older adults.
Valid and appropriate driver’s license with driving record in good standing.
Strong written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Management of all community service contracts.
Proper tracking of all documents related to preventative maintenance and resident work orders.
Purchase of equipment and supplies,
Management of expenses to the approved community budget
Oversight of bid generation for capital purchases, renovation projects and service contracts.
Participating in the MOD (manager on duty) rotation approximately every other month.
