About The Position

The Maintenance Controller is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and authorizing all maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed on Global Crossing Airlines aircraft. Acting under delegated authority from the Vice President of Technical Operations (Director of Maintenance), the Maintenance Controller ensures operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe return-to-service of the Company’s fleet. This position provides 24/7 technical oversight and serves as the primary point of contact between flight operations, maintenance personnel, and management during live operations

Requirements

  • FAA Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
  • Current authorization for Airworthiness Release (per FAR 121.378).
  • Airbus A320 family aircraft familiarization training (formal classroom instruction required).
  • Company-authorized training in: o Required Inspection Items (RII) o Airworthiness Release procedures o Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft line or heavy maintenance, with at least 2 years in a control or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Part 121 regulations and airline maintenance operations.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment and make sound decisions under operational pressure.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and operational teams.
  • High attention to detail and safety compliance.
  • Decision-making ability in time-critical situations.
  • Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tracking and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous (24/7) representation for the VP of Technical Operations (Director of Maintenance).
  • Exercise direct authority over maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed on Company aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR §121.378.
  • Serve as the central point of contact to coordinate aircraft maintenance activities with mechanics, vendors, and authorized personnel across all operating locations.
  • Support real-time operational decision-making for fleet airworthiness, routing, and dispatch.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Company policies, and manufacturer’s maintenance requirements.
  • Authorize airworthiness release decisions and Required Inspection Items (RII), as qualified.
  • Provide technical consultation, troubleshooting guidance, and escalation to higher authority as required.
