About The Position

The Maintenance Controller oversees and coordinates real-time aircraft maintenance activities to ensure fleet safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Acting as a central point of coordination, this role supports both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance by providing technical guidance, facilitating communication across internal teams and outstations, and ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies. The position plays a key role in managing maintenance events, including AOG situations, while ensuring all actions align with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Company procedures. This role requires schedule flexibility, including the ability to adjust shifts and provide coverage during colleagues’ vacation and sick leave. Operating in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, the Maintenance Controller must demonstrate strong technical judgment, effective communication, and a proactive approach to maintaining safe and efficient aircraft operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Must maintain Amerijet qualification and authorization for Airworthiness Release.
  • Two (2) years or more, of experience working as an aircraft maintenance technician. Preferably Boeing 767/757/777 qualified with certification and training records.
  • Know ATA codes/chapters and AMM very well.
  • Familiarity with accessing online aircraft manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, think outside of the box and get along with others.
  • Eagerness to learn and passionate about aircraft maintenance.
  • Uncompromised customer and service minded problem solver.
  • Highly motivated, stress resistant and result oriented.
  • Willingness to work a 12-shift covering 24/7.
  • Pass a five (5) years criminal record background check
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Review log pages for accuracy before the airplane leaves.
  • Ensure any corrective action required by defects recorded in the aircraft log by the flight crews at out stations is corrected or deferred by licensed and qualified personnel or facility in accordance with the Amerijet GMM 7-1, GMM 4-9 and the applicable Company minimum equipment list.
  • Review the qualifications of the personnel or facility assigned to accomplish unscheduled maintenance or repairs at outstations and issuing any one-time authorization that may be required in accordance with GMM 7-50.
  • Ensure that unscheduled maintenance and repairs to Company aircraft are accomplished in accordance with applicable manufactures manuals or the Company's publications and the aircraft is returned to service as required by GMM 4-11, GMM 4-23 and GMM 7-1.
  • Communicate with the Materials department about the requisition parts required for unscheduled aircraft maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure deferred item record keeping and distribution of paperwork are accomplished as required by the Amerijet GMM Chapter 7 Section 8.
  • Communicate all pertinent information regarding defect deferral or repair procedures and requirements to the Captain of the aircraft, Maintenance personnel involved at the outstation Amerijet Flight Followers on duty.
  • Provide details and specific instruction to troubleshoot and clear aircraft discrepancies.
  • Provide a written "turnover report", consisting of the occurrences on the duty shift, to the incoming shift controller. This will be done every shift, even when no deferrals or outstation maintenance is accomplished.
  • Provide "aircraft on ground" (AOG) information to the Manager of Maintenance Control, Director of Maintenance and Quality Control.
  • Complete the Maintenance Delay I Out of Service Reports as required by the Amerijet GMM 7-36, providing a Weekly Delay Report to the Manager of Maintenance Control, the Directors of Maintenance and Quality Control.
  • Advise the FAA and the Quality Control department promptly of any incidents or aircraft delays that may require FAA reporting in accordance with 14 CFR 121.705. Refer to GMM 7-5.
  • Prepare the aircraft status and morning meeting reports.
  • Verify part interchangeability on request from the Material department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
