About The Position

The Maintenance Cleaner Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the convention center's food and beverage areas. Ensures that equipment is clean and in working condition. This position ensures that all kitchen, dining, and event spaces meet health and safety standards, supporting smooth operations during conventions, banquets, and other large-scale events. This role takes place in an events-based setting, which means that schedules and hours will vary. This role is a union position under Unite Here 11. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the union, new hires in this role start at 80% of the negotiated pay rate. After 20 shifts worked, the employee will be raised to 90% of the negotiated pay rate. After 40 shifts worked (20 at 80%, 20 at 90%), the employee will be raised to 100% of the negotiated pay rate. The wage listed on this job posting is the starting wage of 80%. COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $21.20 to $21.20. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting. Requirements

  • Understanding of basic kitchen sanitation
  • Basic Knowledge of HAACP guidelines required
  • Be familiar with all kitchen equipment, to include: dishwashers, steamers, ovens, grills, fryers, flat tops, stove tops, slicers, knives, and other small wares
  • 1 year prior experience working in a team environment
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to work an event-based schedule which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced quick service, convention center, restaurant or other foodservice environment helpful

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an adequate level of chemicals such as glass cleaner, floor cleaner, and anything else needed as determined by a lead or manager
  • Disposal of all trash in food production areas using approved methods
  • Cleaning, separating, and putting away kitchen equipment/carts/refrigerators and service ware
  • Collection, breakdown, and disposal of cardboard boxes
  • Sweeping and mopping of designated areas
  • Clean and sanitize all food service equipment, kitchen equipment, floors, walls, and food prep areas according to health codes
  • Maintain operating equipment clean such as ovens, flat tops, grills, fryers, and steamers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, trash disposal areas, and any pantry area's
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum food service areas, including back-of-house and storage rooms
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with facility procedures
  • Restock cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment as needed
  • Respond promptly to spills, messes, or sanitation issues during events
  • Operate cleaning machinery.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure timely cleaning support
  • Other duties as assigned by Leads and/or Management.
