Are you skilled with your hands, passionate about maintaining operational excellence and ready for a challenge? Our Operations team in Defiance, is looking for a Maintenance B professional to keep our plant running smoothly and efficiently, and in line with Tessenderlo Kerley policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in our plant's success, ensuring all equipment and systems operate flawlessly. Who You Are: A mechanically inclined individual with a knack for technical details and problem-solving. Someone with good communication skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work well under pressure. Organized, thorough, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. Show flexibility and dedication by being available to work overtime and be on call for emergencies. What you will do: Be a vital part of our plant's PSM program, conduct inspections and maintain documentation. Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of plant equipment and instrumentation. Assist with maintaining necessary maintenance supplies. Contain, clean up, package and label waste according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA, NDEQ, RCRA, HM-126, MSHA and DOT regulations. Report irregularities to management for corrective actions. Participate in the plant safety program, which includes attending and presenting at required safety meetings, reporting potential hazards, and performing monthly safety inspections. Assist routine inspection of vessels and equipment to prevent equipment failure/damage. Assist in plant projects, including maintenance, turnaround, lock out/tag out, and confined space entries. Implement an Emergency Response Plan and assist in the mitigation of emergency situations. Perform new facility start-up maintenance activities, including motor burn-in/alignment, rotation verification, equipment lube, and creation of required equipment files. Assist with maintenance shop setup, organization, and critical spare parts identification and procurement. Perform preventative maintenance routines in accordance with equipment manufacturer recommendations and supervisor instruction. Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and schedule contractor assistance when necessary. Maintain a work order system to ensure work is properly prioritized and repairs are completed in a timely manner. Utilize plant equipment to clear snow and remove ice during inclement weather. Set the tone for safety and work ethics for the maintenance department and all coworkers. Assist rebuilding pumps per the manufacturer’s IOM manuals. Assist with the planning and execution of turnaround maintenance activities. Monitor activities of contract personnel to ensure safe work practices are implemented. Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
