The maintenance assistant will be responsible for various tasks related to maintaining and repairing buildings and grounds, equipment, and appliances. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Check work and ensure quality. Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed. Review work order priorities daily and ensure that they are serviced each day. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and repairing doors/windows. Perform non-electrical building maintenance. Handle basic plumbing issues that may arise. Change oil in company vehicles regularly. Ensure that facility grounds and parking lots are clean of debris and garbage. Inspect buildings and grounds. Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures. Work overtime as necessary. On-call as needed. Use hand tools as required. Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as required. Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on the computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll. Follow manufacturing instructions, work independently without constant supervision, be self-motivated, and complete job assignments on time. Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working correctly. Clean work area as required.
