Stephens Memorial Hospital has a job opening for a full time Maintenance Assistant. Position Summary: The Maintenance Assistant supports the overall operation and upkeep of facility systems within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with repairs to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a maintenance or related role
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Basic computer proficiency required for maintenance tracking systems and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and unclogging drains
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facility systems to identify issues and prevent disruptions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and building codes
- Assist with coordinating and monitoring work performed by outside contractors and vendors
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls
- Assist with setup, configuration, and resetting of facility and select medical equipment to default or operational settings, as appropriate
- Support preventive maintenance of electronic and automated facility systems
