About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks on the properties and grounds that are managed by Opengate. Essential Job Functions Drive agency vehicles to pick up and deliver maintenance supplies as necessary. Drive agency vehicles to deliver supplies to residences and programs as needed. Shovel and/or salt walkways and patios as needed. Pick up trash, rubbish and/or garbage daily or as scheduled. Assist with furniture assembly. Assist with moving furniture/office equipment. Disinfecting/sanitizing Opengate facilities as scheduled, requested or otherwise needed. Support the Fleet Operations Assistant as requested. Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment throughout Opengate. Report issues/conditions which require attention to supervisor. Follow federal, state, and local governmental regulatory guidelines pertaining to a safe, healthy, and clean work environment, reporting health and safety concerns to the supervisor. Participation in the Adopt-A-Highway program along Warren Street. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of (3) three years of experience of trade-related employment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of general building and property maintenance, related to routine maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to produce a quality finish with drywall repairs and painting.
  • Ability to safely work with handheld power tools.
  • Ability to analyze and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as a team.
