We are currently looking for a full-time Maintenance Lead to work within our Independent Living Community at The Wesleyan.  A minimum of 2 years residential maintenance experience in a senior living community, a proven ability to direct the work of other maintenance technicians, a heart for serving residents living in a senior living community, and a passion for ensuring a safe and well-functioning building operation will be essential to your success as a Lead Maintenance Technician at The Wesleyan. The schedule for this position is 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday and rotating on-call weekends.  Must be on-call for emergency maintenance requests and repairs at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' maintenance technician experience within a senior living, assisted living, and/or skilled nursing environment preferred.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance such as boiler, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Excellent customer service is required along with the ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • A service-minded approach to all aspects of the job is required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies, for cleaning in some areas, ordering of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Perform regular monthly maintenance checks, assign duties and work to helpers.
  • Performs life safety code preparation inspections.
  • Assist the Director of Plant Operations with developing and implementing maintenance procedures.
  • Supervise all outside contractor work.
  • Responsible for maintaining the building ensuring that it is in good repair and kept free of hazards.
  • Maintain the fire alarm and emergency generator system in good working order.  Perform tests on fire alarm and emergency generator systems as required and keep records of test results. Conduct fire drills as required.
  • Maintain the heating and air conditioning system in good working order at all times.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with other departments to minimize interruptions and shutdowns and ensure smooth turnovers and make-readys.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and tools.  Maintain an adequate stock of supplies for emergencies.
  • Must be on call for emergencies at all times.
  • Assist the Director of Plant Operations with scheduling work assignments and duty schedules of the Maintenance Technicians.
