About The Position

Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe-based applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related technologies. Analyze business and technical requirements to develop solutions that meet business needs. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables. Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and within scope. Monitor batch jobs and resolve issues as they arise in production environments. Write and maintain technical documentation and support transition to operations teams.

Requirements

COBOL (COBOL II / Enterprise COBOL)
JCL (Job Control Language)
DB2 (Database development and SQL query optimization)
CICS (Customer Information Control System - for online transaction processing)
Experience with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)
Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, Endevor, File-Aid, and similar mainframe utilities.
Understanding of mainframe job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M)
Familiarity with mainframe debugging tools (e.g., IBM Debug Tool, Xpediter)
