This role involves maintaining and enhancing Cobol applications, performing upgrades, and ensuring system reliability.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Cobol programming and mainframe systems.
  • Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) .
  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging Cobol applications.
  • Strong understanding of legacy system architecture and modernization practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., DB2, IMS).
  • Familiarity with batch processing and scheduling tools.
  • Experienced in Mainframe batch support

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mainframe modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of CICS (Customer Information Control System).
  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance existing Cobol applications on mainframe systems.
  • Perform upgrades to ensure compatibility with modern environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Cobol applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
  • Ensure system reliability and performance through regular maintenance and optimization.
