This role involves maintaining and enhancing Cobol applications, performing upgrades, and ensuring system reliability.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Cobol programming and mainframe systems.
- Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) .
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging Cobol applications.
- Strong understanding of legacy system architecture and modernization practices.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., DB2, IMS).
- Familiarity with batch processing and scheduling tools.
- Experienced in Mainframe batch support
Nice To Haves
- Experience with mainframe modernization projects.
- Knowledge of CICS (Customer Information Control System).
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing Cobol applications on mainframe systems.
- Perform upgrades to ensure compatibility with modern environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Cobol applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Ensure system reliability and performance through regular maintenance and optimization.
