About The Position

CTG is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / Analyst to support and enhance critical legacy systems. This role requires a strong mix of technical development and business-facing analysis, with a focus on COBOL-based applications, CA-Datacom databases, and enterprise mainframe environments. Location: Jersey City, NJ Duration: 8 months Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and support COBOL/CICS online and batch programs Perform technical analysis and collaborate closely with business units to translate requirements into solutions Support CA-Datacom (mandatory), DB2, and SQL-enabled data environments Manage and enhance interfaces using MQ and MoveIT Provide production support, troubleshooting, and system optimization Work with VSAM and sequential files for data storage and processing Utilize tools such as TSO, ROSCOE, DQuery, Intertest, and CA-Librarian Support ongoing maintenance, incident resolution, and system improvements Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, and MVS (z/OS) CA-Datacom expertise (required) Experience with DB2 and SQL Knowledge of MQ, MoveIT, and file transfer mechanisms Familiarity with VSAM, sequential files, and mainframe storage concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to work in a business-focused (BU-facing) environment Qualifications: 5+ years of mainframe development and support experience Experience with both batch and online systems Background in production support and maintenance of legacy applications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, and MVS (z/OS)
CA-Datacom expertise (required)
Experience with DB2 and SQL
Knowledge of MQ, MoveIT, and file transfer mechanisms
Familiarity with VSAM, sequential files, and mainframe storage concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work in a business-focused (BU-facing) environment
5+ years of mainframe development and support experience
Experience with both batch and online systems
Background in production support and maintenance of legacy applications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
