About your role: You will join a technology team responsible for supporting enterprise mainframe applications that power Fiserv’s core financial services platforms. In this role, you will apply deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance in a fast-paced, SLA-driven production environment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience in an IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environment.
  • Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Experience deploying fixes in SLA-driven production environments.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Per contractual obligations, must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain and maintain an extended background check.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, test, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL (DB2), and CICS in an IBM z/OS environment.
  • Review application designs and source code to assist with testing, debugging, and production readiness.
  • Code and test high-priority and critical changes in support of business and operational requirements.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications to maintain stability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and defect correction.
  • Collaborate with remote and cross-functional team members to deliver reliable application support.
  • Provide regular project and task status updates to project managers and related stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical and operational documentation to support ongoing application maintenance.
