About The Position

CTG is hiring a Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL and CICS experience to support a healthcare claims processing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on development experience in MMIS/Medicaid systems who can translate business requirements into scalable mainframe solutions.
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: 12 months

Requirements

• 2–5 years of mainframe development experience
• Strong COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM expertise
• Healthcare claims processing experience (highly preferred)
• Experience with batch and online systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
• Support healthcare claims processing systems (CA-MMIS preferred)
• Analyze business requirements and build technical solutions
• Perform unit, integration, and regression testing
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
