About The Position

Infosys is seeking a Mainframe build and Deployment engineer primary responsibility will be to translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks. The chosen candidate will apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, gather accurate requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize tasks and the scope of development. The role will require strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment while contributing towards developing and adhering to best practices for developing applications that are scalable, relevant, and critical to the project. Required Qualifications: Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. Minimum 4 years of experience working with Endevor or similar mainframe configuration management tools Strong knowledge of z/OS datasets, PDS/PDSE structures, JCL, PROCs, utilities, and compile/link-edit workflows Strong experience with IMS and DB2 deployment components (PSB/DBD/ACBGEN, bind jobs, plan/package management) Ability to troubleshoot contentions, S0C4/S0C7 abends, dataset allocation failures, processor errors, and RACF-related issues Hands-on experience managing load modules and understanding link-edit structures Strong experience with environment management across multiple LPARs (TEST, PRE-RELEASE, RELEASE, PROD) Ability to read and understand COBOL/PL1/SAS source to validate rebuild requirements Experience coordinating deployments with DBAs, system programmers, and network/NMS teams Experience in a high-availability, 24/7 operational environment Experience integrating applications across IMS, DB2, and distributed platforms Candidates authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Preferred Skills: Experience with telecom OSS / Telecom applications Experience reconstructing vendor-delivered components (loadlibs, control cards) into Endevor structures Experience with automation tools such as REXX, CA7/ESP scheduling, NDM workflows, or ICETOOL scripting Familiarity with ZLinux-based OSS components integrated with mainframe systems Knowledge of IMS and DB2 internals, including log datasets, staging libraries, and region-specific dynamics Experience with large-scale code migration or modernization programs Familiarity with NDM/Connect:Direct, MQ, SFTP on mainframe Experience with ZLinux or z/OS UNIX System Services Analyze promotion failures, processor group errors, RC codes, S0C4/S0C7 failures, or dataset allocation failures Ensure versioning integrity by maintaining consistent element mappings across systems, subsystems, and component types Validate cross-region components Ensure completeness of vendor deliverables by reconciling component types against Endevor inventory Support emergency promotions through controlled and auditable processes Support Environment Stability and SDLC including: Maintain Endevor configuration, processor groups, processor libraries, skeletons, and symbolic overrides Work with Tier 2 operations to ensure correct batch job sequencing after deployments Perform impact analysis for each package and identify dependencies across applications Support regular refresh cycles, including copying production datasets back to lower regions Maintain and update deployment runbooks and test evidence documentation Ensure compliance with Verizon quality gates, audit policies, and security controls Support build automation enhancements or integration with distributed CI/CD tooling (where applicable) The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
